This walk will take you through the streets of Medieval Galway, you will hear how the native Gaelic Irish got pushed out and how the Anglo Normans took control. Why Galway became known as the City of the Tribes. You will have a close up look at some of the medieval grandeur and character that is unique to Galway City.

Members of the Galway Tour Guides Association have completed the Failte Ireland COVID-19 Safety Charter. This charter is designed to add reassurance to employers, employees and customers that their business is ready to re-open and operate safely. All walks are limited to 15 people as per government guidelines. Galway Walking Festival will email participants a short COVID-19 questionnaire the day before their walk. Participants will be asked to complete this online before each walk. If participants are unable to attend their walk due to feeling unwell, a refund will be offered.
